How does waxing work

The process of waxing is quite a simple one. You just need some hot wax, a fabric string, and an applicator to remove hair from anywhere on your body in seconds. The applicator is used to apply wax in the direction of hair growth. After this, the strap of fabric is applied and smoothed down in the direction of hair growth. The final step is to pull the strip off the skin in the opposite direction of hair growth. This technique pulls the hair from the follicle, resulting in smooth skin without any visible hair. The important thing to understand here is that the follicle would remain intact in the dermis layer of the skin. Your skin remains smooth for several weeks, after which you will need to wax the same area again to remove new hair growth.

How does laser hair removal work

Laser hair removal is more complex as compared to waxing. It includes the use of a high-powered laser that attacks the follicle and destroys it so that the hair cannot grow back. The process starts with cooling and numbing the skin followed by applying the laser to the targeted area for hair removal. Still, this can take some appointments for the hair to be completely gone but results can last months to even years.

Pros and Cons of Waxing

Pros
A single procedure of waxing is more cost-effective than the laser procedure. However, the multiple sessions of waxing over the years can end up costing you more than laser treatment. Waxing is effective on all skin tones and hair types, which might not be the case for laser treatment. Another main benefit of waxing is that it can be done at home, however, it is always best practice to have a professional do it.
Cons
Waxing can be very painful in the sensitive areas of your body. Also, waxing simply pulls the hair from the follicle, which means it will eventually grow back. Waxing is just not the best option if you want hair-free skin at all times. Why? Because you at least need a quarter-inch of hair growth to apply wax again. Wax must need something to grip onto.

Pros and Cons of Laser Hair Removal

Pros
Laser hair removal is the best method out there if you’re looking for long-term results. This also saves a lot of time, because having the treatment on a large area of your body can typically be done in a few minutes. Moreover, people with sensitive skin can also benefit from it as it is totally safe. And the biggest pro of all is that it can be done on any part of your body, which might not be the case for waxing as it is incredibly difficult to wax your bikini area. Moreover, laser hair removal is also less painful than waxing.

Cons
Anyone can get laser hair removal but it affects differently on different people. It’s more effective on people with light skin and dark hair. It is also more expensive than waxing treatment, but as a long-term hair removal method, it can be cost-effective over waxing.

Why laser hair removal is better than waxing

When it comes to removing unwanted hair from your body over the long-term, laser hair removal is the best method out there. It is a long-term solution over everything, not to mention it’s also very less painful. If you are likely to have in-grown hairs, this is the method you should choose as it completely destroys the follicle, and once it is destroyed you will not have to worry about pesky, painful ingrown hairs ever again.
